About us

The Arctic Athabaskan Council Education Foundation (AACEF) was established as a charity in 2009. The organization delivers programs to Athabaskan communities across northern Canada and the US in partnership with prestigious organizations from both countries.

Programs

The AACEF delivers four types of programs:

  • Research

  • Workshops

  • Internships

  • Projects

These programs cover six topics:

  • Food security

  • Climate change adaptation

  • Community resilience

  • Changes to biodiversity

  • Habitats and ecosystems

  • Climate change impacts

Our current programs include:

  • Climate Change Adaptation

  • Emergencies Research and Sharing Circle

Our past programs include:

  • Climate change scenarios for the North

  • Education Yukon First Nations communities

  • Elders and youth in environmental planning

  • Arctic peoples, culture, resilience and caribou

  • A variety of research and contributions to academic curricula

The AACEF has worked with many Canadian post-secondary institutions in the delivery of its programs.
